Andries Ferreira found Not Guilty

A SANZAR Judicial Hearing has found Andries Ferreira of the Cheetahs not guilty of contravening Law 10.4 (e) Dangerous Tackling. A player must not tackle an opponent dangerously. A tackle around the neck or head of an opponent is dangerous play, after he was cited during a Super Rugby match at the weekend.

The SANZAR Duty Judicial Officer Mike Heron has accepted a guilty plea from Luke Jones of the Rebels for contravening Law 10.4 (j) Lifting a Player from the ground and either dropping or driving that Player’s head and/or upper body into the ground whilst the Player’s feet are off the ground, after he was Cited during a Super Rugby Match at the Weekend.

James Haskell Suspended for Three Weeks

The SANZAR Duty Judicial Officer Mike Heron has accepted a guilty plea from James Haskell of the Highlanders for contravening Law10.4 (a) Punching or Striking after he was Cited during a Super Rugby Match at the Weekend. Haskell struck Cheetahs player Justin Downey twice as he left a scrum that was being completed, with a scuffle breaking out between several players following the incident.

Butch James suspended for four weeks

The SANZAR Duty Judicial Officer Mike Heron has accepted a guilty plea from Butch James of the Lions for contravening Law 10.4 (h) A player must not charge into a ruck or maul. Charging includes any contact made without use of the arms, or without grasping that player, after he was Cited during a Super Rugby Match at the Weekend. James charged into a ruck near the Brumbies Goal Line and made contact with Brumbies player Scott Fardy after a penalty had been blown to the Lions.

The SANZAR Duty Judicial Officer Mike Heron has accepted a guilty plea from Rob Horne of the Waratahs for contravening Law 10.4 (j) Lifting a player from the ground and dropping or driving that player’s head or upper body into the ground whilst that player’s feet are still off the ground, after he was Cited during a Super Rugby Match at the Weekend for a dangerous tackle on Rebels player Kurtley Beale in the 60th minute of the match between the Waratahs and the Rebels at Allianz Stadium.

Judicial Update Week Seven: Ben Daley, Jannie du Plessis and Dan Palmer issued off-field yellows

Three off-field yellows have been issued for for contravening Law 10.4 (a) Punching or Striking an Opponent.

The first incident occured during the Hurricanes v Sharks match, and later that evening a seperate incident occured during the Reds v Brumbies match - for 2012 Super Rugby Week Seven.
