The Super Rugby Team of the Week has representatives from 10 of the teams in a weekend that saw four away victories in the six-match round. Once again Chiefs fly-half Damian McKenzie put in a huge all-round performance to be Player of the Week.
The Super Rugby Team of the Week has representatives from 10 of the teams with the Chiefs leading the way with three players, Damian McKenzie, Anton Lienert-Brown and Brodie Rettalick. The All Black lock Retallick was Player of the Week after he put in a huge shift against the Bulls.
The Team of the Week is dominated by the Highlanders and Sharks following their comprehensive Week #4 wins. Player of the Week is Sharks winger Makazole Mapimpi who scored two tries and beat seven defenders.
The Team of the Week contains players from nine different teams including four Crusaders and two from each of the Sharks, Stormers and Blues. Player of the Week is Cobus Wiese whose work rate against the Crusaders was immense.
Super Rugby and The Rugby Championship will this season adopt the Law Amendments that were announced by World Rugby in July 2017 prior to the start of the 2017/2018 northern hemisphere season. The amendments relate to the scrum (Law 20), tackle (Law 15) and ruck (Law 16).
