The Sharks have confirmed that they will stay at Kings Park until at least the end of 2017.
With the high-tech arena Moses Mabhida Stadium across the road, there have been calls to move the Durban franchise away from Kings Park. There was then confirmation in April this year from the Sharks Rugby Union that they had been in communication with the eThekwini Municipality about the move.
But Sharks spokesperson Novashni Chetty has since rubbished the rumours, saying only basic conversations have been had on the subject.
"There are no immediate plans to move to Moses Mabhida Stadium," Chetty told Sport24.
"As stated previously, we merely started to engage with the city and at no stage was it announced that we were definitely going to move in 2017.
"A decision on whether or not to move can and will only be taken if it's in the best interests of the Sharks and their loyal stakeholders.
"We always mentioned that all our stakeholders would be approached and engaged with before any decisions are made. No such process has commenced, hence Kings Park will remain our home."
