Since their debut in 2016 the Sunwolves have been a crowd favourite with their attractive style of rugby.... who have been the standouts for the Tokyo team?

Diminutive winger and crowd favourite Kenki Fukuoka scored five tries in his 13 appearances while centre Timothy Lafaele was one of only four Sunwolves to score a hat-trick of tries in a match. Top try scorer for the Tokyo franchise is winger Semisi Masirewa - he scored 13 tries and gained the most metres (1,502), made the most clean breaks (38) and beat the most defenders (78) of any Sunwolves player in Super Rugby.

 Fly-half Hayden Parker [pictured below] is the only player to have made more than 10 try assists for the Sunwolves (12), Parker has also kicked a club-high 95 goals for the side including 71 goals from a stretch of 72 attempts from April 2018 to April 2019. Hooker Shota Horie is a cult figure in the Tokyo rugby community. The hard-working Japan hooker has made more successful throws (167) than any other Sunwolves player, made 190 tackles, beaten 17 defenders and made seven clean breaks.

The backrow comprises flankers Liaki Moli and Andrew Durutalo and No.8 Willie Britz. Moli Won 36 lineouts (inc. 3 steals) and made 135 carries - the third most of any Sunwolves forward; while Durutalo One of only two Sunwolves forwards to make 10+ clean breaks (11), Durutalo also made nine offloads, won 10 lineouts (incl. 2 steals) and gained 402m from 111 carries. The effervescent red-haired South African Britz Won 71 lineouts on the Sunwolves' throw - the most of any player - as well as making 19 offloads, 119 carries and stealing six lineouts - twice as many as any other Sunwolves player.

Kotaro Matsushima

The only Sunwolves player to average more than four defenders beaten per game, Matushima has also made 13 clean breaks and gained 918m from his 14 Super Rugby appearances.
