Argentina head coach Felipe Contepomi has revealed his team to face the Springboks in the Round Five clash in Durban. There are three changes to the starting line-up that edged Australia 28-26 in Round Four.
With two wins and two losses per side, The Rugby Championship is more even than ever and any of the four teams has a chance of being crowned champions of the southern hemisphere.
For the fifth round of the tournament, which will be played this Saturday, September 27, Los Pumas will visit the Springboks in Durban, while the All Blacks will host the Wallabies in Auckland. The Pumas match against South Africa will be played at Kings Park.
It will be the fourth visit for the Pumas to Durban, who have one win and two losses in the city. The win took place on the first visit in 2015. The result was 37-25 and was also the first victory in the history for Los Pumas against South Africa.
The last Argentine win over South Africa took place last year in Santiago del Estero in a tight 29-28 victory, which took the Championship outcome to the last round in Nelspruit. There, the Springboks, led by Rassie Erasmus won 48-7.
For this match, Felipe Contepomi made three changes from the XV that beat the Wallabies two weeks ago in Sydney, and they are all in the forwards:
• Franco Molina for Guido Petti
• Lucas Paulos for Pedro Rubiolo
• Pablo Matera for Juan González
Contepomi has also opted for a six-two bench split between forwards and backs on the bench, which sees flyhalf Tomás Albornoz returning to the matchday squad.
