The Wallabies have welcomed back Marika Koroibete and Angus Bell, and the introduction of several uncapped players for TRC 2024.

Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt has recalled Marika Koroibete for the two Tests against the Springboks to begin the Rugby Championship.

The two-time John Eales Medalist last played for the Wallabies at the 2023 Rugby World Cup and is the lone overseas selection in the 36-player squad.

Koroibete is joined in the squad by World Cup teammates Angus Bell and Max Jorgensen after the pair overcame injuries suffered with the NSW Waratahs.

Bell suffered a toe injury during a defeat to the Brumbies in April whilst Jorgensen picked up a hamstring injury on his return to Shute Shield.

Olympian Corey Toole has been selected in his first Wallabies squad as one of six uncapped players after making his return to the Sevens program.

Backrow trio Seru Uru, Luke Reimer and Carlo Tizzano are first-time call-ups, with Liam Wright (shoulder), Langi Gleeson and Fraser McReight (finger) ruled out with injury.

Brumbies backrower Charlie Cale and new Waratahs winger Darby Lancaster are among the exclusions after their debuts during the July Test series

“There was plenty of discussion among the coaches but we’re hopeful that the squad selected will embrace the challenge of playing South Africa over the next fortnight or so," Schmidt said in a statement.

“We know there’s a lot of hard work to do ahead of those Test matches and we’re looking forward to getting back together as a group on Saturday and rolling up our sleeves.

“The players enjoyed the vocal support we received during the July Tests, and they will be looking to earn continued public support over the coming weeks.”

The squad will assemble in Brisbane on Saturday ahead of the back-to-back Tests against the Springboks.

It will begin on August 10 at Suncorp Stadium, with the game close to a sellout, before heading to Perth a week later.
