Scott Sio the latest Brumby to re-sign

Brumbies prop Scott Sio will remain with the Canberra-based franchise after signing a two-year contract extension.

The news comes on the back of both Jarrad Butler and Henry Speight re-committing to the Brumbies, both for two years, to all but cement a quality line-up.

The youngest of the Brumbies prop-stocks, Sio came to Canberra on an EPS contract at the start of 2012 but has since gone on to become a regular in the Brumbies front row and an option for Ewen McKenzie's Wallabies.

With four Wallabies caps and a Super Rugby Finals series under the belt, Sio boasts a wealth of experience for such a young player.

Sio said becoming a better prop was one of the major reasons behind him re-signing with the UC Brumbies.

"With Ben Alexander and Stephen Moore here, I really couldn't ask for a better place to be for the next two seasons," he told theBrumbies' official website.

"Already they've had a huge impact on my own career and along with Laurie Fisher and Dan McKellar, I think they provide me with everything I need to become a much better player.

"When I got here I'd only just started playing prop - I was still tossing up whether or not I should have a crack at hooker. I grew up playing No.8 and a bit of flanker, so I was certainly pretty raw in terms of rugby knowledge.

"But I feel comfortable in the front row now, particularly at loose-head. It's where I feel I can keep improving and have the biggest impact for the team moving forward."

The son of former Samoan international prop, David Sio, Scott comes from a proven bloodline of quality rugby players.
