The Pumas travelled to Uruguay to play Los Teros and beat them 79-5.

At the Domingo Burgueño Miguel stadium in the city of Maldonado, Uruguay, Los Pumas defeated Los Teros by a crushing 79 to 5 in the last match of the international window of July Copa Visa Banco Macro.

The team led by Felipe Contepomi scored 12 tries and the novelty of the afternoon was the official debuts of Joaquín Moro from Bahía Blanca, who scored two goals, and Francisco Coria Marchetti from Tucumán, who also had his baptism with a try. They became Pumas #892 and #893, respectively.

It was also a very special match for several members of the Argentine squad. Marcos Kremer played the role of team captain for the first time in his career, while Jerónimo de la Fuente and Gonzalo Bertranou, played their 80th and 60th caps with the Argentine jersey, respectively.

The national team made a clear difference against a rival that could not counter the momentum imposed by Los Pumas. Ignacio Mendy's try four minutes into the match was the first glimpse of a production that included seven goals in the first half through Mendy, again, Joaquín Moro, Joaquin Oviedo, Jerónimo De la Fuente, Mateo Carreras and Santiago Cordero.

In the second half, Argentina did not let up and continued to show the difference that was evident in the score. The team made changes and the substitutes met expectations by scoring five times. The tries of Mateo Carreras, Mendy, the aforementioned Coria Marchetti, Moro and Santiago Carreras gave them the final score against a rival that only managed to get to the Argentine goal on one occasion, through substitute Juan Bautista Hontou.

On Uruguayan soil, Los Pumas demonstrated their talent and closed an optimistic international window, which also included a defeat and a victory against France. Now it will be time to focus on the Rugby Championship VISA Banco Macro, the next competition of the season, which will start on Saturday, August 10, against New Zealand in Wellington.
