Contepomi makes minor reshuffle to the Pumas pack for All Blacks Second Test in Auckland.
After the first match of the 2024 Rugby Championship in Wellington last week, which saw an historic third victory in the history of Los Pumas against the All Blacks, coach Contepomi’s team is preparing his team for the second Test of the TRC mini tour at Eden Park in Auckland.
The match be played to be played on Saturday, August 17. The only time that Los Pumas has played there was in the quarter-finals of the 2011 World Cup, with Felipe Contepomi as captain. The All Blacks, who won by 33-10.
For the TRC match in Auckland, Los Pumas will see the return of their captain, Julián Montoya, who has recovered from the rib injury suffered against France in Vélez, which kept him out of the match against Uruguay in Maldonado, and the first match of the Rugby Championship in Wellington. Montoya from the Club Newman will play his 98th cap with the national team and it will be his 35th match as captain.
Other changes to the starting XV will see Joaquín Oviedo come into the backrow with Marcos Kremer moving to the second row in place of Franco Molina.
