With a daunting visit to the Canberra Stadium their next stop, the Toyota Cheetahs will remember how they almost caused an upset against the Brumbies in the Australian capital last year, when Jake White’s team needed a last-minute penalty to win 24-23. There are only 10 survivors from that match in 2012 returned to Canberra with Toyota Cheetahs this week.

As four teams prepare for this weekend’s Super Rugby Qualifiers in Canberra and Christchurch, the Chiefs and the Bulls are watching in anticipation to see who they will face the following week.

The Blues’ playoff aspirations were extinguished last night as they fell to a 34-13 defeat to the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.  Sir John Kirwan’s men have now suffered five consecutive defeats and have no chance of making it into the top six with one final game remaining against the Chiefs next week.

The Stormers recorded a resounding 28-3 victory over the Cheetahs in their Super Rugby encounter at DHL Newlands on Saturday evening.  It was a well-deserved win for a fired-up Stormers team which scored three tries to nil and kept the Cheetahs scoreless for 61 minutes of the match, as they claimed their seventh win of the season.

The Toyota Cheetah Head Coach, Naka Drotske, has named his starting XV to take on the Stormers on Saturday, 29 June at 19:15 in Cape Town.

The Reds will turn their attention to the Stormers after commencing their two-game South African campaign with a 27-13 loss to the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.  Two tries to Cheetahs scrumhalf Piet van Zyl gave the Cheetahs an 18-6 advantage at halftime and despite the Reds continued attacking intent they failed to convert pressure into points with poor ball security.

Tremendous character and commitment has given the Hurricanes a bonus point 39-34 victory over the Cheetahs in their Super Rugby match in Bloemfontein this morning.  The Hurricanes kept their noses in front throughout the contest to register their sixth win of the competition in their second and final match of their 2013 South African tour.

The Southern Kings may have lost against an on-song Cheetahs team in Bloemfontein, but have said that they are much happier with their performance in the game that saw them lose 12 points to the Cheetahs 26.  Director of Rugby, Alan Solomons said the team had showed great improvement on their poor performance the week before against the Bulls, attributed to travel fatigue following the team’s first Australasian tour.

The Bulls returned to winning ways with a tough 26-20 victory over the Cheetahs in their Super Rugby match at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday.  But while they did stop their own three-match losing streak, and also end the Cheetahs magical five-match winning run, the Bulls would be far from happy with their own performance, which was once again too one-dimensional and riddled with mistakes.

The Stormers suffered a last-gasp 24-26 Super Rugby defeat to the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein on Saturday.  Cheetahs kicker Burton Francis landed a penalty goal in injury-time to hand the DHL Stormers a second successive defeat – having lost, narrowly, at home to the Crusaders last Saturday.

It was a record breaking round for the Sharks and Cheetahs over the weekend.  The Sharks set a host of new records with their record win over the Rebels, while the Cheetahs joined a very exclusive South African club - winning three matches on an overseas tour.

After turning in a much improved first half performance, the Waratahs were forced to settle for a single point after recording a disappointing one-point loss to a resurgent Cheetahs side.

The Highlanders lost their second match of the 2013 Super Rugby season to the Cheetahs in Invercargill tonight.  The bounce of the ball and the run of play went the Cheetahs way from the outset and the Highlanders could not pull back the scoreboard.

The Bulls sounded a stern warning ahead of their Super Rugby campaign as they demolished the Cheetahs 32-10 in their pre-season friendly at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

The Sharks scored a bonus point win over the Cheetahs at Mr Price KINGS PARK on Saturday to secure a place in the Finals Series in emphatic fashion with four second half tries blowing away the visitors.

With the rain taking the four-try bonus point out of the equation, the Stormers will feel like they achieved their objective with their 13-6 wet-weather win over the Cheetahs in their penultimate Super Rugby league match at Vodacom Park in Bloemfontein on Saturday.

The Bulls smashed the Toyota Cheetahs for an hour and then took the foot off the pedal, but still did enough to win comfortably 40-24 in their Super Rugby clash at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Saturday.
